Autumn in July.

An appetizer at starbucks… while waiting or… preparing
myself for the dinner, with a long-lost friend…

one of my fav… Matcha Japanese green tea blended with milk and ice,
topped with whipped cream~

How does it feel to be eating on top of the world?
Well, at least not the top of the world, but up in Genting is
juz as nice… especially, when it’s with a special friend, him
Heard bout this restaurant called The Peak in Genting, where it
serves fine dining food on the 17th floor of Genting Hotel, but
only to find out that it was closed. Without any choice, we stroll
around the other place there and decided to stop by First World
Hotel. Since it’s such special day, we can’t just settle with any
other old time fav~

We decided to go for Italian food~
dinner at Ristorante Torcello’s~
And such a good day, deserve a better treat – they are
running promotion for their set meal:

5 course dinner at the price of RM30++ ??
(very money worth right!)

located at Level 2, First World Plaza, Genting~
contemporary Italian home-made cuisine with a mixture
of Mediterranean fusion cooking ^^

There wasn’t a lot of people around, so it fits just right
for a good talk-talk time with him. We sit next to the river
(or so it is there, though just about 3 feet wide with some
artificial boatmen) and with a candle light shinning at our
faces, feeling so mysterious yet good.

Our food came after about 10 minutes of chat, starting with the serving of
hot bun. Dono if it’s the chill weather there, but the bun tastes extra-ordinaire
and the butter tends to melt just by a sweep onto it.

Sopa ~ soup of the day.
To enhance our taste bud, we were serve with the soup-of-the-day, the
orangish Pumpkin soup. I don’t quite fancy it, but from the way he sip away
every single sip of his, I guess he must have love it…

Ensalada Grano de Elote ~ Corn Kernel Salad
About here, I’m quite full and could actually call the bill and there we were
served with our salad…
Entrees:

Borrego Asada ~
Grilled lamb served with saute’ pumpkin & corn-on-cob with hunter sauce
And just before I finished half of my salad, our main dish came. It smells so
good and it is so sweet of him to cut a small slice of it to serve me… It makes
the lamb feel so much juicier.
To dear him, thanks for being there always…
Thanks for being so caring
and sweet~ when with him, its always me… i miss being myself.

Home made pizza~

I chose seafood instead of vegetarian~

When he holds up the fork with a small slice of it to feed
me.. I told him, u don’t haf to feed me anymore, after all
these years, i … finally grow up d
After we are done with the meal, here come our coffee and tea…

…his tea. my coffee.
So, what else is missing??? Well, of course the wine but our waiter told us it’s
nearing their closing hour and they do not serve wine anymore.
Damn… such a mood spoiler >.<
But after all, it was a good dinner to have at Ristorante Torcello’s… BUT make
sure u go with someone special!! as the foods are NOT NOT NOT nice but the
someone can easily enhance the experience more, with such surroundings…
it’s the BEST then~ and so i will still go back again
* well i cant say all the foods are not nice cause i only tried those…
if u happen to dinner there, do let me know what are nice kay? ^^
The experience:

Ristorante Torcello’s decor reflects the colours and textures of Italy in its
warm contemporary interior and romantic ambience… very cozy…

to Redang - Borderless Musical Beach Party.

*note: these photos all taken by hp~ so a lot noise ya.

I have no idea where Vivo is before this. They said it is at Auto City and you
will surely pass by on your way up to Penang. Well, I did pass by, and it really
look like an auto city where you’ll find cars cars and cars.
What’s so special about it, rite? But only upon when we drive in…
I can feel the difference.
Entering here, is like entering into a city of it’s own. I must say, I like the feeling.
The way it is organised look very nice. You can find so many things here… from
fast food to kopitiam (the famous Old Town, I mean).
It’s just so convenient. Like a 1-stop place for people who want to have some
entertainment and fun.

There, I was at Vivo.
Not a lot of people when we arrived because we were there for an event.

We were being taken to the VIP area, on the 2nd floor, to which you have a
big variety of seating to choose from.

You can have a cozy face to face seat at a corner, bar table
overlooking downstairs or a room of sofa couch with pillow,
which is being separated by red pearl blinds.

We settled down at the sofa couch, pearl blinded VIP room.
It’s quite cozy with pillows. There we cam-whore a lil’
The crowd only start coming at around 12+, and that’s when
we got tired… tired of waiting as we arrived at 10 (thinking it
will start then)… But this place is very nice and cozy to hang
out with friends ^^

inside Vivo~

and lil’ e, i know u ain’t so hapi recently…dear, i wil stand
by u don wori, we r both bz now, but we’ll surely have fun
together soon, Sept perhaps, u know what i mean.
Jia U.

Elbrine & Lisa.
Remember my last post on how I ate away the blues?

Well, it really helps. Those lucky fellas in Penang must feel
better having to have so many good local foods to chew on.
My friends said that Penang food is good everywhere
You don’t need to search around that hard~
It’s kinda true. Just a few steps away from my hotel (Gurney Hotel),
there’s this food court that serves great food.

What will you think of if I mentioned to you Hokkien mee?
1st thing that cross my mind – black tasty mee (yum yum).
But when I ordered Hokkien mee here, they gave me this:
Hmmm, what happen to my black sauce? Did they forget to put it in?
Den only I got to know that the Hokkien mee in Penang is like this.
Anyway, it tastes good. So, who cares la. Hehe~ ^^

Of course, not forgetting this in Penang… Penang Loh Bak. There are so many
selection and varieties here, that I’ve asked Elbrine to go with me and stop me
in case I took too much, and she really did >< We took this few only (as above)~
Strangely, the food here tastes better than those in KL…
Dono if it’s just me or it really is. The char kuey teow here is also nice.

Talking bout Char Kuey Teow, there’s this MUST EAT ones from 2 sisters
who wear red hats. So, we drive there to taste it. I think it’s at Lorong Selamat..
(hope I didn’t get it wrong)
Reach there and there stands an old lady with a very big red hat~
(it looks like those chef hat that has drop down).
Sister “Char Koay Teow”

When I got near, only I realized how cute that old lady is.
She looks so trendy in her stylish yellow stripe goggle and
the red hat. But she looks very serious frying the kuey teow.

… but… look at her hand
got plaster… surely
bcuz of the hot oil…
:(

*camwhore while waitin*
Our kuey teow came quite fast coz there’s not a lot of people and it looks
yummy. I seldom eat char kuey teow but this time round, I ate…!!!
and I never regretted it

It tastes so good. On top of that, got 3 big prawns.

While eating, I thought of going behind the scene to look
at how the old lady can produce such yummy dish and all
I can see is the use of charcoal.

and a fan to blow it…

such traditional way but just works ^^ well, I’m sure the
secret must be more than this.
Anyway, I got to continue on my journey…
journey for more food. haha~

But before leaving, I manage to take a shot with this cute old lady.
* sisters, thanks for allowing me to shoot so many pics oo~
bcuz of u both, i love kuey teow now *its true*.

Well, this place surely deserve a thumb up!
* price is reasonable, mine is RM6 but with 3 big prawns and a lot of efforts*

My next target… Asam Laksa (my fav). We went to the
Asam Laksa at Ayer Itam (just beneath Kek Lok Si Temple).

Here, the chef is also another old guy…
(I think the years of experience surely make the food taste better) ^^

the other chef also look very much alike. I think they are twins.

But the Asam Laksa here is cheap, only RM2.50…
wher to find these days >_<

and it is good too (but a lil too much veggie), they really put alot veggie.

The soup is nice. You can tell by the look of their pot.
* err, not sure if i should say its nice, at 1st glance, i reali think its dirty..
but after i ate it, i love it

The owner here is very friendly and I took a photo with him too…
he keeps smiling and when i leave, he “bye bye!” “bye bye!” and
“bye bye” with me , sweet. ^^
After so many good meals, we decided to head back to hotel. It’s kinda
tiring driving here and there to look for food but it’s worth it.
But only back in the room that our driver starts complaining about us.. ><
Well, who would have thought that our hotel is so caring that we could order
all the nice food in Penang from our room.
Look at this:

All the famous foods are here and there are a few that we’ve missed out.
* well, we only tried sister char koay teow
:|
order from hotel cost RM 16.00 nett for each… well, i prefer to go out
and hunt for the foods myself instead of havin those in hotel… of cuz
lah, different environment more syok right
awww. surely, i’ll be back again in search for the rest!!
*i love foods!!!*

Anyhow, all these foods make Lisa a happy gal again
